What Is High Ticket Affiliate Marketing?

What is high ticket affiliate marketing? High ticket affiliate products sell for much more than the average product. With a high ticket affiliate product, the affiliate can earn more even when they sell less of a product.

High ticket products can be both physical products and digital products but carry a larger price tag than most affiliate offerings. Most high ticket products will cost more than $1000 and pay out between 10% and 40% commissions. Digital products tend to offer larger rates of commissions than physical ones do.

So the best high ticket affiliate products to promote, in terms of payouts, are high ticket digital products. These are training and education products offering business tools and personal mentoring. The biggest payout items sell for upwards of $10,000 and offer affiliates 20-30% commissions. So you could earn $2000-$3000 on a single sale!

Most affiliates start out with selling physical products from Amazon. The main problem with this strategy is the low levels of commission paid from Amazon’s affiliate program. Digital products can accessed online and so carry far fewer costs. The savings can be passed on to the affiliate.

High ticket physical products are a good bet though for affiliates because of their high cost. With low valued products (e.g. $100), the affiliate makes only around $10 per sale. But with a high valued physical product the cost of the item could be $10,000. Even with a 10% commission the affiliate earns $1000 per sale.

Crazy High Ticket Items

This submarine can be sold for $300,000 with an affiliate commission worth $24,000!

You might be thinking you won’t sell many of these as an affiliate since it’s so expensive. But remember that affiliate marketing is global. There are plenty of people who can afford such a product. Selling high ticket items makes sense for affiliates even if they don’t go specifically for a submarine!

With low value products, you might imagine more people can afford them. But work as an affiliate often requires the same activities whatever you promote. Selling 100 items at $100 each with a $10 commission will earn an affiliate $1000. But selling just 10 high ticket items at $1000 each with a $100 commission will make the same amount.

This makes sense for affiliate marketers because selling 100 items is more difficult than selling just 10, however much an item costs.

High Ticket Digital Items & Subscription Products

High ticket digital items offer the largest commissions in the affiliate industry. With a digital product, you can earn far more in commissions because there’s no postage, handing or delivery costs involved. A $10,000 product can land you a nice $3000 commission at 30% commission. The same physical product might only pay 10% commission but you could still earn $1000 from it.

Digital items have another “ace” up their sleeves though because some high ticket digital products also carry membership costs. This can mean a recurring income from a subscription commission for affiliates. Subscription affiliate programs offer ongoing value. They might involve ongoing training and mentorship for help in building an online business, for example. Software products too offer subscription commissions and are great for affiliates to build an ongoing passive income from previous sales they have generated.
